The 50-year-old, Sunday Adejumo, Head of Operations, Security Unit of UNILAG, was shot dead at popular a beer parlor.
Suspected assassins have killed the Head of Operations, Security Unit of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Sunday Adejumo.
Late Adejumo was killed at popular a beer parlor, Daniel's Place, located on Oyenuga street, behind St Finbarrs Street., Akoka, Lagos On Friday 29th of August.
The 50-year-old was drinking with some friends when the attackers stormed the place, and shot him dead after stabbing him.
Student Pulse gathered that the attackers are suspected to be cultists.
Comments by an eyewitness quoted in online reports seem to describe a regular cult execution.
"When the gang got in, they went to where he was sitting. They had different weapons, ranging from cutlasses to guns.
"One of them went to him, hit him in the chest and he fell down. He then brought out a gun and shot him point blank," the witness said.
According to the Lagos State Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Lelma Kolle, the attackers initially tried to steal the deceased's car but were thwarted by the security system.
Kolle added that investigations are on.
The owner of the bar has been arrested and he has made statements. We cannot categorically say whether this was a robbery or an assassination plot. The matter is still under investigation." he said
As at the time of publication, there has been no official statement from the management of UNILAG.
