Taraba State Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai has been declared missing by the state's acting governor, Alhaji Garba Umar.
The acting governor, who disclosed this to Leadership on October 6, Monday, in Jalingo, the state capital, said he is yet to set eyes on his boss since he was sneaked into the country by a certain cabal.

"Few of my aides and I were already at the domestic wing of the airport to receive my boss but, unknowingly to me, the cabal was already waiting at the international wing of the airpot where the plane conveying my boss was directed to land. When I got to know that the plane landed at the international wing, I rushed to the place to receive him, but he was in a jeep which immediately drove him to T.Y. Danjuma Lodge,"he said.
Umar alleged that the cabal was holding ailing Suntai hostage in order to hold onto power even at the detriment of his health. He urged residents to shun religious differences and work towards unity in the state.
"I thank God this year's sallah was peaceful; peace has returned to some of the crisis areas in the state. And I have also constituted a reconciliation committee to ensure that those who fled their homes because of crisis return,"Umar said.
The acting governor vowed that his administration would continue to make sure that citizen of the state enjoys the dividend of democracy.

Meanwhile, in a reaction to the alleged missing of the governor, Emmanuel Bello, a former commissioner for information in the state, told Leadership on phone that governor Suntai was not missing.
According to him, Suntai was doing well and would soon return to the state to continue his administration.
"Since our dear governor returned from his medical trip, he has been at the Governor's Lodge, otherwise called T.Y. Danjuma House, located at Asokoro in Abuja,"he said.
Bello alleged that Umar was just waiting to finish this administration which brought him as deputy governor, assuring that upon expiration of the tenure, he would pack his things out of Government House.

Slyvanus Giwa, the senior special adviser on media and publicity to Governor Suntai, could not be reached for confirmation.
The acting governor, who has been under pressure since ailing Suntai flew in for the second time after being hospitalized abroad on September 25, 2014, explained that the recently set up medical panel meant to monitor the health of Governor Suntai is not made to impeach the governor.
It would be recalled that Suntai has been under medical attention for almost two years now following the injuries he sustained in a plane crash on October 25, 2012, which he was piloting.
