Messi's injury won't give him a chance to play a revenge match against Germany for their agonizing defeat in the Brazil World Cup final in July.
Barcelona's no. 10 sustained the injury when he pulled an abductor muscle in his right leg during the team's second La Liga win on Sunday.
Messi as reports have it will undergo tests on Tuesday to determine the full extent of his injury.
