Ebola is a deadly disease which has killed thousands across West Africa but an 11-year-old boy, Mamadee who was diagnosed with the Ebola virus still found a way of making himself and those around him happy.
Mamadee was an Ebola patient at Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Case Management Center in Foya, Liberia but he did not allow his diagnosis dampen his spirit as he danced his way to recovery.
While at the camp, the boy spent most of his time dancing, he performs a dance to Azonto, a type of music that originated in Ghana and in two weeks, he recovered.
Mamadee is one of the few lucky ones who have been fortunate enough to survive, as about two-thirds of patients at the camp die from the Ebola virus.
He has since been discharged from the centre after he recovered.
The 11-year-old boy is an inspiration that no matter what you're going through, a positive attitude can change your outlook and the outcome of your situation.
Below is the video uploaded to the Doctors Without Borders' YouTube channel which captured the young patient having a little fun and dancing for the other patients at the treatment center.
According to latest data from the World Health Organisation (WHO), nearly 6,000 people in West Africa have been infected with the virus, and 2,833 have died. Of all the West African nations hit by the deadly Ebola virus, Liberia has been the worst affected, accounting for more than half the number of total deaths.
In Nigeria, the National Union of Teachers said schools would not resume unless adequate safety measures were put in place.
Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan dismissed the call for a postponement saying there was no need to keep children at home as no new case has been reported and all those under surveillance had been declared Ebola free.
