Poverty and lack of female empowerment in the traditional society are cited as reasons for girls' vulnerability to the sexually-transmitted diseases.<br>The National Emergency Response Council on HIV and Aids, a government department tasked with co-ordinating Swaziland's Aids response, has issued statements in the local media citing the need for initiatives to discourage girls from having sex because of economic need.<br>Seventy percent of Swazis live in absolute poverty. Sadly, some female corps members still break camp rules, as they turn the camping exercise to a free sex carnival.<br>Life in the orientation camp is fun, although occasionally 'marred' by regular sessions of drills, mind-blowing and strenuous activities like the Man O' War drills, endurance trek, camp fire night and the regular early morning parade.<br>Some girls were so carefree that they actually succeeded in having sex on a daily basis, frolicking with male corps members, and even some soldiers (don't ask me how I got to know, lest I start mentioning names with genuine evidence) and a few camp officials who do not want to be left out of the corpers' rush.<br>To my utmost chagrin, some of the teenageAbokiboys otherwise known asAlmajiristhat at times helped out with chores especially fetching of water, also ate the free love dishes served by my fellow female comrades. It was difficult to believe that those female graduates actually had it with these muscular teenage boys and, they too, in turn, were willing to service as many females as are willing to pay as low as N500 or more.<br>If you dare to ask where these dirty habits were carried out, I'll promptly reply that they regularly took place on the vast expanse of land that doubles as the exercise and parade field. But they took place mostly at night when other sane corps members are sound asleep. Those that slept with soldiers and camp officials were however saved the stress of having to do it in the open but rather in a cozy room and on a mattress, who cares if the foam is flaccid. The corper-to- corper or corper-to-aboki romance has so much risk, hence it is usually done in a hurry.<br>It was so shameful to discover that majority of the ladies were supposedly married or engaged. While a larger number of them removed their wedding band (though the lines were still very obvious on their fingers) others simply desecrated their sacred vows and frolicked around with their wedding or engagement ring glaringly displayed on their fingers. Shameful is it?<br>About one week into the orientation exercise, two girls were reportedly decamped having been caught making love with theabokis. This news was confirmed by one of the soldiers as he was literally advising female corps members to hook up with responsible soldiers who would provide them the luxury of a decent place to be laid as against doing it with theabokison a dusty grass.<br>He said one of those girls caught and decamped was a married woman as the camp authorities called her husband, thinking it was her father, to inform him of what his daughter did on camp. It was reported that there were 2 Nigerians and one Israeli on board.<br>In a further development the federal government allegedly provided documents to prove that the money transported was meant for buying equipment for the military adding that the deal was lawfull and had nothing to do with arms smuggling. However the South African side was reportedly not satisfied with the explanation saying that the manner of money import contravened the law of their country.<br>The saga continued yesterday when the major opposition party alleged Dokubo-Asari was involved in the deal and urged President Goodluck Jonathan to comment on what the former militant was doing on the plane, Punch reports.<br>In a statement released October 8 by APC National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party insisted that the Nigerian authorities were to answer a lot of questions in connection with the issue.<br>According to them, the questions emerged because even the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), who issued the end-user agreement for the purchase, "does not and cannot purchase arms for any of the armed services".<br>"Under our constitution, the NSA is an adviser and has no executive powers to deploy troops from any of the services or purchase arms for them. That the arms purported to be purchased from South Africa were ordered from the office of the NSA is nothing but a mere fabrication, and raises serious questions about the motive for the purchase.<br>"Nigerians will therefore like to know on whose behalf Asari Dokubo was purchasing arms. This is very crucial because Asari Dokubo has been threatening that Nigeria will not know peace if his benefactor, President Jonathan, is not re-elected. Therefore, Nigerians will like to know whether he has started stockpiling arms to make his threat a reality, since elections are due in a few months' time."<br>According to the statement, "this man who once took arms against the state" might be plotting to harm the country.<br>Meanwhile the ex-militant when contacted was outraged by the APC's allegations. Speaking from Saudi Arabia where the official is currently performing the 2014 Hajj, he said he had last visited South Africa 12 years ago and even theoretically could not be there, as he had no visa to enter the country.<br>"Can you enter any country without a visa? No person can enter any country without a visa. Presently, I am in Saudi Arabia performing my Hajj as the Amirul Hajj of Bayelsa State and this can be confirmed. I flew Flynass from Kaduna on September 27. So, it is really a shame that Lai Mohammed who has defiled the name of Allah has become a pathological and award-winning liar.<br>"Nobody enters any country without a visa and I have not been to South Africa since 2002. He said the party was organised for just members of staff of the company.<br>"He left the house around 4pm and that was the last time I saw my son alive."<br>Following his son not returning back home, the worried father said he went to his office on Association Avenue, Ilupeju, Lagos only for him to be told that his bosses had also been wondering why he had not resumed for work.<br>A member of the company, who craved anonymity, told Punch that the late engineering graduate had been persuaded not to leave the party on the night of the incident, but he refused as he reportedly said he had to leave saying the call was urgent.<br>Meanwhile his friends, who attended the party, were however said to have overheard the deceased receiving a call around 7pm at the Sunday party to meet with someone at Suru Alaba. But unfortunately when they went in search for him at Alaba Suru, he was not found.<br>So they reported the matter at the Layeni Police Station close to the place and were told me they saw his corpse on the road and they had taken him to the mortuary.<br>The father said: "I want the police to make a thorough investigation into my son's killing. I believe some people killed him and took his corpse to Suru Alaba to make it look like he was killed there.<br>"He was a gentle and hardworking son who had been preparing for his NYSC when these wicked people took him somewhere and killed him."<br>According to a police source the killers took the phone of the deceased along with them to frustrate investigations so that they will not be easily traced but the stated that he long arm of the law will catch up with them, no matter how hard they try.<br>Meanwhile one of Muhammed last posts read: "Many lives have gone, but I'm still alive; not that I'm better than those people that are no more, but it is the will of God.<br>"If I recall the date I was brought into this world and compare it to my present life if there is no progress I would never thought of graduating from my primary school, secondary school, Islamic school and higher institution and now planning for my NYSC in November."<br>Friends of Muhammed took to social media to pay tributes to him, with some describing his death as shocking.<br>The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, who confirmed the incident said the police were already investigating the murder, saying: "Somebody has been arrested in connection with the crime." <br>We Love Seeing Your Comments! <br>Get Socialized SHEAR! But his wife is a very hard working woman. She built the house they live in. <br>As if that was not enough, she bought a commercial bus for him. What else does he want? If he was tired of the marriage, he should have driven her away instead of killing her. <br>The world is truly a wicked place. How can a man kill his own wife? The same woman who bore him three male children, for goodness sake? T. Ndiomu, Commander, Army Headquarters Garrison, Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro Abuja.<br>The affidavit also stated that the prosecutors, Lieutenant-Colonel A.A. Audu and Lieutenant-Colonel Ukpe Ukpe, are Army Officers also appointed by the 2nd respondent.<br>The independence and impartiality of the Court Martial was not secured in the trial of the soldiers, Dr. Agbakoba asserted.<br>"This is because all those who participated in the events related to the Court Martial are Army officers. They are the investigators, prosecutors, President, Judge Advocate, Waiting Member and other members of the Court Martial," he noted.<br>Though the suit is yet to be assigned to a judge, it was filed under the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules 2009 seeking four reliefs, including:<br>– a declaration that the convening and composition of Army General Court Martial, which convicted and sentenced 12 soldiers to death by firing squad for various offences on September 16, is contrary to Section 36(1) of the Constitution of the Nigeria, 1999;<br>– a declaration that the decision of the Nigerian Army General Court Martial, presided over by Brigadier-General C. C. Okonkwo, delivered at the Army Headquarters in Abuja on September 16, whereby 12 soldiers were sentenced to death by firing squad, violated the right to fair hearing of the convicted soldiers;<br>– a declaration that Section 133(3)(4) & (5) of the Armed Forces Act, dealing with the convening authority of Court Martial, is inconsistent with Section 36(1) of the Constitution and therefore null and void; and an ordersetting aside the decision of the Court Martial made on September 16.<br>Meanwhile, it would be recalled that Lagos lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) had three weeks ago called on the Nigerian military authority not to confirm the death sentence passed on 12 soldiers.<br>Falana advised that the death sentence instead should be commuted to imprisonment in the interest of Justice, The Nation reports.<br>He also urged the convicted soldiers that should the Army council confirm the death sentence, they should take the case to the Court of Appeal.<br>Also, a former senate president, Ameh Ebute, filed an appeal to stop the execution of six of the 12 soldiers sentenced to death.<br>Ebute, who is also a renowned lawyer, filed a motion for a stay of execution of the condemned soldiers at the Appeal Court in Abuja.<br>The ex-senate president explained that he filed the appeal in regards to Sections 183 and 184 of the Armed forces Act cap A of the Laws of the Federation, which offers the condemned soldiers up to 10 days to appeal their conviction. <br>We Love Seeing Your Comments! <br>Get Socialized SHEAR! Secondly, they have to be given proper training on how they would avoid the disease and ensure that they don't get it.
