Cote d'Ivoire striker Didier Ya Konan has been ruled out of his side's clash with Colombia at the Estadio Nacional in Brasilia on Thursday.
The Hanover striker is ruled out of the decisive Group C match through a knee injury.
Both nations won their opening games and a win for either of the two should guarantee passage into the last 16.
Ya Konan played a vital role in Saturday's comeback win over Japan, after coming on as a substitute.
His absence, means Didier Drogba, who also came on as a second-half substitute in the match at the Arena Pernambuco, Recife, could start against Colombia.
Meanwhile, Stuttgart defender Arthur Bolka has returned to training after limping off with a calf problem against Japan
