Manchester United Move On William Carvalho
Manchester United are stepping up their bid for William Carvalho , who was linked with Chelsea over the weekend. Portuguese website Zerozero.pt report that United representatives are in Portugal to attempt to close a deal for the Sporting Lisbon midfielder, who has now returned home from the World Cup.
Carvalho was linked over the weekend with Chelsea by The Mirror , with Jose Mourinho claimed to be a big admirer. Whether this has sparked United into action is unclear, but they appear to have made the first move in terms of attempting to negotiate.
Liverpool attempt double deal for Lallana and Origi
TheLiverpool Echo report that the Reds are aiming to secure a double deal for Adam Lallana and Divock Origi. The paper report that Lallana completed his medical over the weekend, after a fee of £23 million plus add-ons was agreed. Lallana will be the second big name out of Southampton this week, and allow new manager Ronald Koeman to move ahead with a spending spree of his own. He will also be Liverpool's most expensive signing of the summer so far.
Liverpool are also in talks to sign Divock Origi of Lille, who has impressed during the World Cup with Belgium, out-performing Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku. The Echo report however that the two clubs are yet to agree a fee, while Tottenham are also claimed to be interested.
Southampton want £20m for Arsenal target Schneiderlin
Arsenal have been linked again with Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, but The Mirror report the Saints want £20 million for his signature. The Gunners' interest is a case of bad timing with Southampton already securing big money for Shaw and seemingly Lallana, and value the Schneiderlin as a similarly integral part of last season's success. The midfielder is currently on international duty with France, making a first World Cup start for Les Bleus in the draw with Ecuador.
