CESC FABREGAS has passed a medical at Chelsea, according to reports in Spain. Starsport reported yesterday the Barcelona star had agreed personal terms ahead of a possible switch. The two clubs are yet to agree a fee for the midfielder but Spanish newspaper Marca claim Fabregas has already had a medical at Stamford Bridge.
He is said to have passed the tests and everything is now in place for the ex-Arsenal ace to replace Frank Lampard. Fabregas was in London last week and Marca allege Chelsea chartered a private jet to fly him in.
Arsenal and Manchester United have both shown an interest in Fabregas too but it appears the Blues are in pole position to land him. The Gunners have a wealth of midfield options and will focus their attentions on signing a striker.
United's hunt is hampered given they cannot offer Champions League football. Barcelona are holding out for around £29.2m for the 27-year-old.
Chelsea are ready to hand Cesc Fabregas a whopping £200,000-a-week to move to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona this summer.
Jose Mourinho wants the 27-year-old to replace Frank Lampard, after he was released this week, and Chelsea are going all out to get their man.
According to sources in Spain, Chelsea are willing to bolster Fabregas' salary to about £200,000-a-week, if he moves to west London.
