A crush of Okada rider and his passengers to death by a BRT bus along Lekki-Epe expressway sparked a massive Okada riders' protest.
According to an eyewitness, two passengers and an Okada rider who were chased by the police collided with a BRT bus at Awosanya bus-stop, along Lekki-Epe expressway around noon on Sunday.
"While trying to escape from the police who were chasing them to seize their bike for riding on the express.
"The okada, which was in high speed, collided with a BRT bus that crushed them to death," the source stated.
It was gathered that the police were allegedly trying to arrest the Okada rider and seize his motorcycle because it is illegal for commercial motorcycle riders to ride on the expressway.
However, after the accident, the policemen abandoned their vehicle and fled into the nearby Mayfair Estate to escape lynching.
Afterwards, scores of irate motorcycle operators and area boys gathered at the area.
They burnt the abandoned patrol van and blocked the highway for several hours as a protest over their colleague's death.
In what seems like a re-enactment of last Friday's Army madness on the Ikorodu-Lagos expressway, the protesters prevented any vehicular traffic on the highway.
However, the Army took the situation under control after a while.
