Germany have risen to the top of theFIFA World Rankingsafter a successfulWorld Cupcampaign inBrazil.
Argentina's 2nd place at the tourney was enough to push them up 3 spots up to 2nd, andLouis van Gaal'sHollandwent up an amazing 12 spots to complete the top 3.
All of the teams that exited the World Cup in the quarter-finals have climbed up the ranking:Colombia(fourth, up four),Belgium(fifth, up six),France(tenth, up seven) andCosta Rica(16th, up 12 – theTicos'highest-ever ranking).
Former champions Spain have fallen from the top spot to eighth place, whilePortugal(11th, down seven),Italy(14th, down five) andEngland(20th, down ten) have all dropped out of the top ten following their first-round exits. World Cup hostsBrazil, meanwhile, have dropped four places to seventh position.
Nigeria's round 0f 16 finish catapulted them to 34th place, up from their previous place of 44th.
