Owerri-born Cynthia Akudo-Jonah was an upcoming singer who was probably on her way to fame and success until her life was cut short. Popularly known by her stage name Cynthomania, aka 'Ada Owerri', the chubby singer is reported to have passed away on June 18, 2014 after a brief illness. Her publicist confirmed through a statement released on June 19, 2014.
Cynthomania who was in her 20s, before her death, worked with the likes of Timaya, video director Patrick Ellis and was planning to release her debut album with the lead single 'Ukwu ajebutter' before her untimely death.
Fans and friends have thronged to her Facebook page, writing condolence messages. ' R.I.P my dear friend cynthomania aka Ada Owerri' , Blessing Sunday wrote. FB friend Ifeanyi Chima still can't come to terms with the singer's death. ' Pls I need confirmation. Cant believe this cos I chatted with her few weeks ago ', he wrote.
The singer was signed toAugsmania Records.
