Lifetime's Aaliyah biopic no one asked for is happening, and it looks like singer/actress Zendaya Coleman will be playing the role of the late singer. The 17-year-old singer started her career in Disney's "Shake It Up" before her stint as a backup dancer for Selena Gomez, she was also the runner-up on season 16 of "Dancing With the Stars." Before Zendaya's casting it was rumored that BET host, Keshia Chante would tap Aaliyah, but as usual, DISNEY KIDS STAY WINNING.
Still on #TeamKeshiaChante as Aaliyah, TBH.
Zendaya will also record four of Aaliyah's songs for the film, which sounds like a terrible idea, but we guess. Filming will begin sometime later this month. The movie will debut in September on Lifetime.
