The students, Ejura and Onekwu Opaluwah, were taken hostage and carried away in the boot of a Blue Honda vehicle with license plate number: HR 152 ABC, Vanguardreports.
The girls' uncle, Amadi Opaluwah, reportedly stated that the incident started as a robbery operation around 5 p.m on that day. According to his account, the gunmen stormed the Opaluwah's residence and went straight to the girls' father's bedroom, and robbed him of his valuables. As they were fleeing, they grabbed the girls, and put them in the boot of their vehicle.
