With 3 awards, Kunle Afolayan to get $11,000 from AFRIFF

I hope these awards come with money, as I really do have to recoup on the massive investments I made to produce this film.'
Those were the words of celebrated Nollywood filmmaker, director and actor, Kunle Afolayan while giving a short speech as he picked up the award for Best Feature Film for his latest project,October 1 at the recently concluded Africa International Film Festival 2014(AFRIFF) in Calabar.
And NET can confirm that the awards did come with cash prizes indeed.
Having walked home with Best Feature Film, Best Screen Play and Best Actor award, the distinguished filmmaker has carted away $11,000 for the three awards his film won at the festival with $4,000 for the Best Feature award and $3,500 each for the two others although the Best Actor award at the AFRIFF 2014 Gala/Awards Night is for veteran actor, Sadiq Daba.
