The World Cup winner does not want to see his coach leave the club and backed the side to turn their disastrous campaign around by the end of the year
Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has dismissed suggestions Jurgen Klopp could quit the club.
The German coach revealed an interest in coaching in the Premier League last week and, with his side bottom of the Bundesliga, reports have claimed that could come sooner rather than later.
But Hummels rubbished suggestions Klopp could depart, stessing the squad don't want to see him leave.
"I think we can exclude that," the 25-year-old told Sport1. "Because nobody in the team feels like that."
Last season's Bundesliga runners-up are bottom of the table ahead of Sunday's trip to face Eintracht Frankfurt, having won just three of their 12 games.
But Hummels expects Klopp, who won the Bundesliga with Dortmund in 2011 and 2012 and guided them to the final of Champions League in 2013, to turn things around.
"I think and I hope these discussions about us fighting relegation won't last and will pass off by December," the German World Cup winner said.
Victory at the at the Commerzbank-Arena on Sunday could see Dortmund leapfrog Eintracht and climb up to 11th place heading into the final month before the Bundesliga's winter break.
Asked if his contract would still be valid if Dortmund did drop into Bundesliga 2, Hummels said: "I don't know. Probably yes, but I won't think about it right now."
Hummels has been out of action after sustaining ankle ligament damage in the 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich on November 1 but could return to face Eintracht Frankfurt.
