Drake is the king of classy shade and most of the time, it's pretty funny, but there's one person who won't be laughing this time around.
On Monday night, during Drake's performance of "Days In The East,"a fiery image of Rihanna's face appeared on the Jumbotron a few times along with the number 6, while he sang the lyrics "Why you keep askin' me about her? She's not here right now, she's not here right now." Fans immediately believed he was subliminally associating her with the devil.
If you remember, Drake released the track back in April after he and Rihanna were spotted all over Europe together. On the song, he raps:
Why you keep askin' me about her?
Couple of other things I'd rather do than talk about that right now
Told you about giving him chances on chances on chances
He's not holding you down, he's holding you back right now
[...]
Even as a boy I was the boy already
So you know that mean the p-ssy galore already
Mention other girls, you get insecure already
That was in the past, I've matured already
F-ck them hoes, you got the award already
You go to Chanel and get rewards already
A month later, Drake and Rihanna went their separate ways quietly, without a mention of ever being together, or falling apart. It wasn't until Drake and Chris Brown decided to squash their beef that Ri's name was thrown back in the mix. When producer Mally Mall, the guy who played a key role in getting the two guys in the studio together, was asked if Rihanna's name was brought up at all during the studio session, he responded in a very matter-of-fact way: "Nah,I think everybody gets the picture now. You act like a jumpoff, you get treated like one."
The most interesting part of all of this is that Chris Brown was supposed to perform with Drake at OVO Fest but had to pull out because his felony charges would make it difficult for him to gain entry into Canada. What did those two guys have planned?
