Yesterday at CES Lenovo became the first company to announce some cool new Windows hardware. Earlier today they announced seven new Windows 8 devices for 2014. They range from 8-inch tablets to 23-inch AIO's. Let's take a look.
Lenovo MIIX 2
The Lenovo MIIX 2 is a new larger version of the original 8-inch MIIX tablet from last year. This model comes in 10-inch and 11-inch screen sizes that can be docked in an optional keyboard dock. The dock is especially cool because it uses magnets. The device itself is very thing and sleek. It has an Intel Atom processor, 1920×1200 resolution, JBL surround speakers, 128GB of eMMC storage, microSD card slot, and "all day battery life."
The 11-inch version is a bit more powerful with Intel Core i5 processor. Everything else is pretty much the same.
Lenovo X1 Carbon
The X1 Carbon is a 14-based inch ultrabook designed with Carbon Fiber. This makes it stronger than aluminum, but weighs less. The X1 Carbon has a touchscreen, and 9 hours of battery life, but other than that not much was said in terms of specs. They claim the display has "higher resolution and better viewing angles." The X1 Carbon will start at 210 thousand naira this month.
Lenovo ThinkPad 8
Perhaps the coolest thing that Lenovo showed off is the ThinkPad 8. This new tablet is the first Windows device that can truly compete with the iPad Mini. It has a full 1920×1080 full HD display, Intel Atom processor, 128GB of storage, USB 3.0, LTE, and Windows 8.1. It also has a cool magnetic flip cover case. Later this month it will be available for just 68 thousand naira
Lenovo Y and Z Series
Lenovo has a couple new models in their Y and Z series of laptops. The 14-inch Y40 and 15-inch Y50 both come in a stealthy black case. Some options include backlit keyboard and Ultra HD display with touch. Stock build includes 1920×1080 displays, Intel Core i7 processors, and much more. They start at 160 thousand naira
The new 14-inch Z40 and 15-inch Z50 offer a lightweight design for mobility. They also have 1920×1080 displays, Intel Core i7 processors, and 1TB of storage. These laptops will start at $599 in March.
