The long awaited return of Jack Sparrow to cinemas is set with the arrival of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Our first look at the fifth entry in the popular swashbuckling series initially came during the season finale of AMC's Fear The Walking Dead before officially being released online. Boasting some impressive CGI effects as per usual and what is to be the first of many gorgeous locales, audiences are no doubt in for a visual feast next summer.
What many fans will want to take note of is an intimate look atJavier Bardem's wonderfully grotesque Captain Salazar. If the man gives as good of a performance as he did in Skyfall as that particular film's villain, than I would have to say moviegoers are in for quite a treat. I also couldn't help but recallDanny DeVito'sPenguin in Batman Returns after seeing all of that black goo spill from Bardem's mouth.
Aside from us knowingOrlando Bloomis reprising the role of Will Turner, the studio is still understandably holding their cards close to their vest. In the meantime though, be sure to check out the synopsis below for more details:
Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales arrives in theaters on May 26, 2017.
