Ghana's Asamoah Gyan has gone on record to claim that he is the best footballer out of Africa.
The Al Ain Striker who holds the record for most World cup goals by an African in the world cup and was recently voted the best foreign player in Asia is among the nominees for this year's African footballer of the year and the former Sunderland man fancies his chances. Speaking to Joy FM, Gyan said "Personally, I am really happy for the nomination and there are many footballers and I'm lucky. I will like to thank my players, the Black Stars and the club for getting me there and without them I wouldn't be where I am. I think my chances are bright and for these statistics I think I deserve it."
Gyan is up against the likes of Vincent Enyeama, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ahmed Musa for the award of Best Player in Africa.
