 A girl who came down with fever after her recent visit to West Africa have been reported to have tested negative to Ebola after being put in isolation at a hospital in Glatineau, Que.
 According to Karelle Kennedy, a spokewoman for Outaouais region public health asserted that the girl is in stable condition and under observation.
 As a result of the Ebola scare the Public Health Agency of Canada has advised against all non-essential travel to infected Africa nations and travellers should always take special precautions.

This was disclosed by the President, Civil Rights Congress, Mr. Shehu Sani, in a recent exclusive interview with Sunday PunchSani, who has been involved in efforts to get government and Boko Haram to discuss the fate of the girls in the past, said some powerful individuals, whom he refused to name, ensured that the talks derailed. But that government has begun fresh talks with the group to secure the release of the girls. "What I want to tell you is that something is being done about it but I'm not disposed to making it public. Most times, publicising these issues always lead to sabotage by those who do not want the girls freed. I will not mention the names of these Nigerians. However, I can tell you that real and genuine moves are going on, which I am a part of. The claim that the girls have been abandoned is not true. There are genuine efforts by government and some individuals, who are discreetly making efforts toward getting their (pupils') safe return home." Reports have claimed that the girls who were kidnapped from the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, have been sighted in camps inside Sambisa Forest, in some border towns near Cameroon and in the Central African Republic. The human rights activist noted that the girls could only be freed either forcefully or through dialogue and negotiation. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo; Sani; and a United Arab Emirates-based Nigerian freelance journalist, Ahmad Salkida, who had communication channels with Boko Haram, had offered to mediate between the government and the sect. But none of these efforts have yielded fruits. He added that the foreign intervention sought by some Nigerians had not produced results. The United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Israel had offered to assist Nigeria in rescuing the school girls. Both the US and the UK had sent security experts and technology to locate the abductees and secure their release. While the US claimed to have located the girls, France had specifically opposed negotiations with the sect. Speaking on efforts made by these countries so far, Sani said: "I am not aware of any serious efforts made by any foreign country. I am not aware of what is happening on the side of the US forces. From the side of dialogue or negotiation, I have not seen any serious intervention or involvement of these countries."

 Both players were asked to leave camp before the 2-1 defeat to Portugal in Brasília which consigned Ghana to bottom spot in Group G.
 According to the GFA, Kevin-Prince Boateng was kicked out of Ghana's team for making "vulgar verbal insults" towards coach James Appiah. It seems the suspension is still haunting Kevin Prince Boateng as he has finally come out to tell the world his true feelings about Ghana and Coach Appiah.
 In a recorded conversation with a leading newspaper in Germany,Kevin said :
 "The GFA lied about what truly happened in Brazil. I will be lying to myself if i say I regret [my actions]. I insulted coach Appiah,because he deserved it. Why did he sit out his best player during the first match against USA? Tell me if that doesn't warrant an insult. I truly wonder where he got his so called coaching license from."
 He went on to speak about the backlash he has since received from the Ghanaian fans.
 "I'm happy I let down the people of Ghana at the world cup. Can you imagine some even called me Boko Haram? Really Boko Haram? It was always my dream to play at the world cup, the door with Germany was closed. Ghana needed me badly, so I availed myself only for the fans to under-appreciate my contributions to the team. For that, I am very happy, some think I let down the country. Mark my words, I will do it again when I am called back into the team."

The airline is planning to reduce 6,000 workers as portion of a $1.9 billion overhaul in order to revive its damaged brand.
 The employees reduction represents an estimated 30% of its existing workforce of 20,000. The revamp and new investment in the carrier will expense about six billion Malaysian ringgit ($1.9 billion). Analysts say the substantial staff cuts recommend the airline will cut down flights to Europe and China.
 The twin disasters and ongoing financial woes "created a fantastic storm for the restructuring to take place," mentioned Khazanah Managing Director Azman Mokhtar. "We will need to have a fresh get started."
 The airline will be removed from the Malaysian stock exchange and taken absolutely under the wing of the government. Khazanah, which previously announced that it plans to take 100% ownership, aims to restore Malaysia Airlines to profitability by the finish of 2017 and then relist its shares on the stock exchange by the end of 2019.

 The source said when the father was first diagnosed with cancer, the family ran up and down, spending millions just to save his life but he died anyway and Tuface Idibia has found it really hard to believe that his dad is gone. He is yet to come to terms with his father death, they simply say.
 The family source said:"It all began two years ago when he came down with cancer. Ever since he has been in and out of hospital. The family spent millions looking for a cure but all was to no avail. He fought a brave battle but The Lord gives and the Lord takes, he finally passed away last week and now Tuface is traumatised; he is yet to come to terms with the fact that his dad is dead because they shared a very close relationship."
 Tuface while speaking to close friends said:"We have done our best, now life continues. I am going to miss dad for a long time to come".
 However, the family in a publication regarding the death of their father asked to be given some privacy to mourn their loss. Tuface Idibia's father died at the age of 68years.
 Meanwhile, Tuface Idibia's younger, Hyacinth and his wife were delivered of a baby some weeks back. The circle of life, really unfortunate.

 All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasir El-Rufai, named former Borno State governor Modu Sheriff (recently defected to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP) and Lt. Gen Azubuike Ihejirika, a former chief of army staff as Boko Haram "kingpins".
 Posting the statement to his Facebook and Twitter pages, the former minister cited Australian hostage and crisis negotiator Stephen Davis, who alleged the above duo were key elements of the insurgency on Arise News. Davis claims the information was disclosed by Boko Haram commanders, who claim the pair has targeted individuals for assassination and execution.

The Australian model had suffered eating disorders in the past, and took to her Instagram to call out the Bikini company. She shared two photos from the shoot, one prior to editing and one from after. Needless to say, the two were quite different. Not only was her stomach slimmed down, but the rest of her body appears to be retouched, too. Kausman condemned the obvious editing, saying; My body is a size 8, not a size 4. That's my body! I recently did a photoshoot wearing Fella Swim, with an extremely passionate and talented underwater photographer, Pip, @seagypsea_photography Her photos are magical; they capture women in water and celebrate their beauty. This morning I was extremely shocked to see that Fella Swim had uploaded a photoshopped version of Pip's original photo to their Instagram page. They had drastically altered my body, thinning out my stomach and thighs in an attempt to box me in to the cultural ideal of beauty. Above is their version, below is the real version. My body is a size 8, not a size 4. That's my body! I refuse to stand by and allow ANY company or person to perpetuate the belief that "thinner is better". All women are beautiful, and we come in different shapes and sizes! This industry is crazy!!!! It is NOT OKAY to alter a woman's body to make it look thinner. EVER! The photographerPip Summerville, also lends her voiceto the conversation; Is what your seeing really real??? I was lucky enough to work with @meagsk for a personal underwater portrait session a few weeks ago. After posting one of the images from the session to social media, a swim wear company took the image and heavily photo-shopped it without permission of either myself or Meaghan. The result of the drastically edited image is seen on @meagsk instagram. As a photographer, I understand the importance of editing to bring out the best in an image. I am the first to admit that Photoshop allows creativity to be showcased to a higher level. The use of Photoshop to alter body image in order to portray a stereotype is all to common in this industry. This particular Photoshop of the image is a breach of copyright as there was no permission sought before manipulating it for their advertising means. These situations are not of an isolated occurrence in the industry, and are all to common, highlighting the unrealistic expectations of beauty and body image. Courageously, Meaghan voiced her opinion and with the help of Dr Rick Kausman her situation is being heard. The couple who got engaged 2 years ago tied the knot this weekend in France in the presence of their six children, a spokesperson for the couple has confirmed. Brad, 50, and Angelina, 39, arrived in Nice on Saturday for their nuptials, believed to have been held at Chateau Miraval.

The vaccines will be made available to volunteers in Gambia, Mali, and Britain in effort to curb the spread of the epidemic, which has killed over 1,552 in West Africa so far.Researchers are hoping that the trials could finish by the end of the year (2014). If the trials prove successful, vaccines could then be given to people infected with Ebola, which is spread through bodily fluids. This was made known on Thursday by leading pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline, which is developing the vaccine with the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Wellcome Trust, which is partly financing the trials. The statement reads that:"A candidate Ebola vaccine could be given to healthy volunteers in the UK, the Gambia and Mali as early as September, as part of a series of safety trials of potential vaccines." However, the trials still require ethical and regulatory approval, and will be funded by a £2.8 million grant from the Wellcome Trust, Britain's Medical Research Council (MRC) and the UK Department for International Development (DFID). The Oxford study will involve 60 healthy volunteers, while those in the Gambia and Mali will each involve 40. This will also allow GSK to make some 10,000 extra doses of the vaccine so that if the trials are successful, it could be made available to the WHO quickly. The safety tests of the vaccine will take place at Oxford University alongside a US trial run by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). Nigeria has so far recorded 5 deaths, including the index case, a Liberian by name Patrick Sawyer who imported the virus into the country in July. Last Tuesday, the Federal Government announced a new resumption date for all private and public primary and secondary schools in the country in order to curb the spread of the deadly disease. They are now to resume on the 13thof October 2014.

 Tom Frieden, the director of the Centers for Disease Control, said the epidemic would need an "unprecedented" response to bring it under control.
 Health ministers from across West Africa are due to meet in Ghana to discuss the growing crisis.
 The World Health Organization says the outbreak has killed 1,427 people.
 The health body says it is the largest ever Ebola epidemic and has infected an estimated 2,615 people.
 Liberia has been hardest-hit of the affected countries, with 624 deaths and 1,082 cases since the start of the year.
 Mr Frieden met Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to discuss ways to fight the disease.
 "The cases are increasing. I wish I did not have to say this, but it is going to get worse before it gets better," he admitted.
 "The world has never seen an outbreak of Ebola like this. Consequently, not only are the numbers large, but we know there are many more cases than has been diagnosed and reported," he added.
 He said there was a need for "urgent action" and called on Liberians "to come together" to stop misconceptions that have helped the outbreak spread.
 Despite rumours to the contrary, the virus is not airborne and is spread by humans coming into contact with bodily fluids, such as sweat and blood, from those infected with virus.
