''I am a Corps member serving at Ogbomoso North, Oyo state. There is a program for all Corpers calledSAEDwhere we learn different skills, like bead making, soap making and all. And we pay just N2000-N3000 naira, because those that teach us are corp members like us.
Recently, our LGI cancelled this group and made it compulsory for all corpers to pay N10,000 naira each for skills like tailoring, bags making with rope, making of bags with beads,small chops and all. We refused but he said there is no going back.
Most of us cannot afford this, we pay for accommodation, we run some professional courses, we send little cash home and also feed ourselves and we are also meant to save little change.
The monthly allowance is N19,800 and some of my colleagues have not been paid for months. I plead with NYSC Authorities to come into this. Thank you so much''.
This is so unfair and i beg you to do whatever you can to make sure this gets to the right authority....this is wickedness personified!
