There were reports that the performance might have been cancelled due to a lawsuit, but the performance will go through as planned.
The suit was filed by Hologram USA and Musion Das (the companies behind the technology that created the famous Tupac Shakur hologram at Coachella 2012), claiming the performance would violate their technology patents, but a federal judge didn't think the injunction had any merit and dismissed it.
The Billboard Music Awards takes place today.
