During an interview with Felicia Monet on Miami’s WEDR 99 Jamz, Young Money president Mack Maine announced that Weezy was finishing up “C5″ and was about to start recording a “special project for the people”.
“He’s always working hard for his fans”, he said.
Young Money affiliate Fee Banks posted an Instagram photo of Wayne in the studio along with the caption: “Sorry 4 the Wait 2″ and a “soon” emoji.
Weezy’s 2011 mixtape “Sorry 4 The Wait” was released in the interim for “Tha Carter IV”.
Earlier this month, Wayne took to Twitter to reveal that “Tha Carter V” won’t be released because Birdman and Cash Money refuse to put it out.
