A Los Angeles based filmmaker and mother of two, named Ramaa Mosley claims she started the hashtag, which is trending all over the world and has raised massive awareness for the campaign. She gave an interview to ABC Nightline a few days ago, in which she claims she was driving in her car when she heard the news about the abducted girls.
I started weeping and I raced home, I looked on the Internet and I found some news in Africa that confirmed it, but couldn't find anything else in the United States.
This prompted her to start the call on twitter, she tweeted the call to everyone from Barrack Obama to Hillary Clinton to celebrities.
The only thins is that she did not start the hashtag, a Nigerian lawyer Ibrahim M. Abdullahi (Abu_Aaid) was infact the first to tweet the hashtag. He had heard former Minister of Education Obiageli Ezekwesili speak at an event in Port Harcourt. On 23 April, Abdullahi tweeted about her words using the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls. Ezekwesili then retweeted Abdullahi.
