There are reports that the ongoing protest by striking lecturers of 
Nigeria's polytechnics and colleges of education at the Federal 
Secretariat, Abuja, has been disrupted by the police.

The peaceful protest, which was organized to show displeasure at 
the Federal Government's handling of the strike which is about 11 months
 old now was disrupted on Tuesday morning when police officers fired 
tear-gas at the protesters, made up of lecturers and students.

Over 24 hours after Chelsea defeated Liverpool 2-0 at  Anfield to dent their chances of lifting this season's English Premier League, EPL, title, pictures of fans of both clubs fighting after the match have emerged.

The pictures showed ugly scene of a scuffle outside the Anfield Road end of the stadium after Liverpool fans took exception to Chelsea supporters singing about Reds captain Steven Gerrard after the match.

In another picture, one fan appeared to throw a punch while others had to be restrained by police.

The World Health Organisation had placed a global ban on the use of chloroquine and Artesunate in 2005. Nigerians have been advised against the use of Chloroquine and Artesunate for the treatment of malaria.<br>
Nnenna Ezeigwe, National Coordinator, National Malaria Control Programme, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Abuja.<br>
She, however, recommended that people should take only Artemisinin Combination Therapy, ACTs, when they test positive for malaria.<br>
