The baby, a girl of about 2 months, was found on Tuesday night near a school within the Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
The little girl is believed to have been abandoned by her mother and was found at night by a staff of the Nigerian Immigration Service.
Mrs. Caleb Harry, who picked the baby, told LEADERSHIP that she was found around 8:30 pm.
"It was my children that saw the baby crying who ran to the house to inform me. My neighbours and I went to the place where the baby was seen and brought her home.
"We have been wondering why a mother after giving birth would abandon her baby and run away,"she said.
